Native American
The Apache are Indigenous peoples of the North American Southwest, living across Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and northern Mexico. They call themselves Inde or Diné, meaning "the people." Divided into groups like the Mescalero, Jicarilla, Chiricahua, and Lipan, the Apache lived as hunters, gatherers, and farmers.
Known for their resilience, they fiercely resisted colonization under leaders like Geronimo and Cochise through guerrilla tactics. Apache tribes continue their cultural traditions and self-governance, with communities in Oklahoma, Arizona, and New Mexico.
